Isabel . . . forgotten post . . .

Isabel: 30 snatch @135lbs . . . hahahaha

anyway, Troy said: we can do it right . . . or fast. Okay.

So did about 50, 30 for time with weight . . . long time, low weight . . .

Anyway. I think it was a 35lb total. I need to get some 10lb and 15lb bumper plates to practice these at home . . .

So you did the scaled Randy WOD without too much comment about form. Now with Isabel you're down to 35# and fewer reps.

Is it the difference between power snatch and full snatch or some greater elightenment?

Just askin', trying to learn. Not pointin' fingers.

It's funny, but there is a huge difference, at least in what I was doing.

I mean, the difference in a power clean and a full clean is that ballistic front squat under weight. Same with a snatch and a power snatch, only now we're talking the inherently unstable overhead squat . . . and catching it there.

So, was my form good on Randy? Oh, I doubt it very much. My back was a little ouchy afterward which meant I probably had a lot of "soft" pulls, i.e., not good arched back position.

When Isabel came up, it gave me a chance to practice the whole shebang under a coaches eye. I could have power snatched a LOT more than 35. Maybe up to a girls weight . . . Ha!! and I think I could have legitimately practiced with say 65-75lbs, but I figured if my trainer was willing to watch me do 50 full on snatches, I'd better take the opportunity. And it did fine tune some stuff. So I suppose there was a method to my madness, just not well explained.
