9 to go . . .
I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that of the 11 "herbs and spices" in Kentucky fried chicken, Salt and Pepper are in the lot . . .
I'm on to your schemes KFC . . . oh yes, this riddle will not last much longer . . . (besides, what the hell did some guy in the 1930s Kentucky have at his disposal? I'm pretty sure spanish smoked paprika and saffron weren't on the shelves at the Piggly Wiggly . . . )

I'm thinking "herbs and spices" could be just about anything... I mean, it did originate in a part of the world that considers macaroni and cheese a vegetable... So, if you add chicken and flour to your list then you're down to 'cipherin' 7
Flour, salt, pepper and MSG.
Soak the chicken in brine first, then deep fry it in a pressure cooker.
"The Colonel"'s original product was the cooker. "The Recipe" is a marketing gimmick.
I've made some according to a cracked recipe on the web and it comes extremely close. A friend's dad made some for us at his birthday when I was a kid and I couldn't tell it from the real thing.
