I'm not seeing any video or link. I'm just met with a blank box, kind of reminds me of talking to you. HAAAHAhahhaaha

I haven't tried a different machine so it's possible it's a problem on my side..... but that's highly unlikely.... so Mr. Welles, you may want to re-check your directorial debut before this turns into a War of the Worlds...

very nice!

hey, were all those creaking and groaning noises from the swing set or was that your old bones?

funny how things "work fine on my machine"... you sure you're not a programmer?

a day at my job:

me: Hey John, I found a bug in your program.

John: BS, it works on fine my machine.

30 minutes later:
John: try it again.

me: oh yeah, now it works.

Yep, i have to kip just to get past the bonegrinding . . .

I had trouble getting all the video noise out. That's why you can hear my son back there grousin' about if you listen.

TP - a couple things. Have your legs shrunk lately? Cos' I'm sure you were moaning about scraping your tootsies on the deck with your old bar, and this new one doesn't seem a whole load higher. And I stand by my earlier recommendation - dig the kiddies a sand pit under the bar. Two birds, one stone mate!!

The other is perhaps more useful - you are making your pull-ups a lot harder than they need to be. With the front-on footage you can see that you are getting some momentum from the swing and bringing the knees up but after that it is nearly all arm pull. That hip is loaded son - just pull the damn trigger. Snap the hip hard and you are gonna fly my friend. Check out the Adrian Bozman progression from CF.com for a drill to get the hip working properly.

Chris,

you know, yeah, I was moaning about hitting the ground. What it turned out to be was a combination of things. With the small bar, my grip would wear out really fast or was just weird. So that threw off all the other stuff. I thought I was kind of dragging my toes, but it was more like I was not doing the damn work. And I played around with my kip just a bit to see if I couldn't lift up a bit higher.

As for the kip, you know, I was watching myself thinking . . . what's wrong with this kip?

Thanks mate. Particularly since I can see that my knees come way up. If keep snapping my hips, I'll see myself getting beyond some of my current limitations.

Yep, knees up is a good thing but hip snap would make it great. Here is the best progression I have seen for teaching this stuff. Fast forward through the first bits but the second half should be gold for you:
